Mac OS X v10.2.1 (Jaguar):

iTunes and Finder Burning under Mac OS X v10.2.1:

The Lucid-24 24X FireWire CDRW is supported natively by iTunes and Finder Burning under Mac OS X (v10.2.1). No additional software/drivers needed.

Please make sure you have downloaded the latest update to Jaguar, currently 10.2.1, via the Software Update system preference within Mac OS X, or by internet download from Apple's web site available at:

It is highly recommended to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes (iTunes 3 for Mac OS X) available at:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Finder Burning under Mac OS X v10.1.5:

The Lucid-24 24X FireWire CDRW is supported natively by Finder Burning under Mac OS X (10.1.5).

iTunes under Mac OS X v10.1.5:

It is highly recommended to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes (iTunes 3 for Mac OS X) available at:

Also, download the latest Disc Recording Update (v 1.3.4) by running "Software Updater" or downloading from:

Follow these steps in order to use the Lucid-24 CDRW with iTunes under Mac OS X v10.1.5:

1. Under Mac OS 9.2.x, download the MCEL24CDR.device-plugin.sit file and double click to unstuff it if it does not unstuff automatically.
   
2. Still within Mac OS 9.2.x, open the following folders: System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DiscRecording.framework/Versions/A/Resources/DevicePlugIns
3. Drop the "MCEL24CDR.device-plugin" file into the "DevicePlugIns" folder.
   
4. Remove the "MatshitaCDR.device-plugin" file from this folder but keep it safely on your hard drive in another location such as a folder on your desktop. (When you next update your system software it is recommended to first go back and replace the MCEL24CDR.device-plugin file with the "MatshitaCDR.device-plugin" file. This must be done under Mac OS 9.2.X as well.)
   
5. Restart your Mac under Mac OS X and you will now be able to use the Lucid Drive with iTunes under Mac OS X!

Mac OS 9.1 to Mac OS 9.2.x:

In order to use the Lucid-24 with Apple’s iTunes and Disc Burner software under Mac OS 9.1 to 9.2.x, you will need to have the latest iTunes software (v2.0.4 as of this writing), available on Apple's web site at:

and the latest version of Disc Burner (currently 1.0.1) available from:

Mac OS 9.2.x automatically includes Disc Burner v1.0.2. Disc Burner v1.0.1 is for those users using Mac OS 9.1. (Upgrading to Mac OS 9.2.x is highly recommended.)

Note: Many systems already ship preloaded with iTunes and Disc Burner. Check which version you have as they may already be current.

Follow these steps in order to use the Lucid CDRW with iTunes and Disck Burner under Mac OS 9.1 to Mac OS 9.2.x:

1. Download the MCEL24CDR.sit file and double click to unstuff it if it does not unstuff automatically.
2. Drop the "MCEL24CDR" Authoring Support File into the "Authoring Support Files" folder located in the "Extensions" folder within your "System Folder".
3. Remove the "MatshitaCDR" file from the "Authoring Support Files" folder but keep it safely on your hard drive in another location such as a folder on your desktop. (When you next update your system software it is recommended to first go back and replace the "MCEL24CDR" with the "MatshitaCDR" file.)
4. Restart your Mac and you will now be able to use the Lucid Drive with iTunes and Disc Burner.
